What I have done so far?

This is an ongoing production log what I have done so far. The tasks I have done so far is analysis on music magazine front covers, contents pages and double page spreads, doing analysis will help me decide what type of music magazine I want to do, furthermore other things that I have done so far are: music magazine questionnaire results, print screen of questionnaire document, reader profile, brief about the tasks I have to do for my music magazine, rough sketches of music magazine, possible mastheads for the front cover.

These are all of the things that I uploaded on blogger and now I need to do my music magazine front cover, contents page and double page spread on Photoshop, this will be an easy task for me because I already have the skills to do so because I already have the experience in creating a magazine.

The masthead will be called MUSE.

There will be a main image of my model.

At the bottom there will be the name of the main story which is "Sophia Swans Exclusive Comeback."

there will be a website and date below the masthead and below that besides the main image there will be some text both left and right.

The colours that I will be using are purple and black.

The contents page will have four images on the right hand side making it look like a photo frame or a film strip and on the left hand side the page will be split into two. One part having regulars and one part having features and both of them having page number.

The double page spread will be an A3 paper. At the top it will have the main story name and on the right hand side there will be four pictures making it look like a photo frame or film strip.

At the bottom both left hand side and right hand side there will be two images and the rest of the double page spread will be filled with text of the interview.

The colours used will be purple and black.

Analysis of front cover, contents page and double page spread

This music magazine front cover is called “Top of the Pops.” This front cover is filled with images which makes the front cover look realistic also they are images of different celebrities. The colours of this front cover are bright the use of pink and purple connoting that this magazine is for both boys and girls.

The main image of this front cover magazine is of JLS and the main story is in the pink and yellow bubble however it is an inappropriate phrase.  Furthermore the colours scheme is nice and simple which is good because if you use too many colours it puts the reader off.  Moreover there are other features shown on the front cover.  The logo is from BBC.

This is a contents page of a music magazine. The colours are made simple purple connoting that this magazine is for both girls and boys. The top of the contents page is blank and the bottom is filled with features and other regulars.

The images are on the side made more like a photo frame. This contents page however is too plain because it needs something at the top. 

This is a double page spread of a music magazine. This double page spread would be targeted at girls because girls love boy bands and these are two members of one direction. The colours are simple and it is a grey background.  The double page spread has two main images and two main headings along with their stories. 

This double page spread is good because it’s nice and simple, not too many colours and most of all it stands out making it look realistic. 

Brieft of what to do for music magazine task

This is a brief of what I have to do for my music magazine task, first of all before making the front cover, contents page and double page spread I woulod firstly need to do some research. I would need to use Photoshop again for this process, furthermore the other thing I would need to do is take images for a fornt cover, contents page and two page spread, make vox pops, analysis on other music magazines, reader profile, possible mastheads for the front cover. There other things that would need to be done such as wrting the article for a double page spread.

The main thing is that I would be working on all the tasks that are needed to be done first.
Making the music magazine is mainly to be made on Photoshop which would then be easy for me because I already have the skills to create a front cover, contents page and double page spread.

Brief what I had learnt when I done my school magazine

When I created my schoool magazine front cover and contents page what I had learnt is how to use Photoshop with Photoshop you can learn so many new things such as using colours, new tools that have been introduced to you. Making the school magazine front cover and contents page was easy at first using Photoshop was hard but as I kept on going on the program I got used to it day by day, which has therefore made a success for my front cover and my contents page.

This is my rough design of my school magazine as my front cover I decided to choose this sketch because I want the magazine to be full, eye catchy for the people and so they will be interested to read the magazine, furthermore, drawing a sketch helps because it will then help me do the type of design I want to do.

At the bottom is my contents page for my school magazine as this is my rough draft it is just the begining of my sketch and as I do my design on computer it will be better and an image on the side whilst on this sketch there is no image which could then be improved.

Preliminary Task Brief

I am going to create a front cover and contents page for my school magazine at the start of my course. I am going to do this because I need to know the skills that are needed and I need to know my way around all the software's and computers. This will help me gain confidence and the different types of skills that are needed to make a magazine. Furthermore as I make improvements of my school magazine this will be my best piece of coursework.

The techniques that I will use in this magazine will develop onto the music magazine.
As this is my first project it may not be my best piece but as I start creating the music magazine it will be impressive!!!
